A night-time watercolour painting of the Aged Miners' bungalows in Herrington, Houghton-le-Spring — a row of characterful homes bathed in cool moonlight blue, with a warm glow spilling from a window or two. The iconic tram rolls through the scene, evoking the energy of a time when these streets were at the heart of a working community.

This place holds a deeply personal connection for me — I grew up not far from here and still live nearby today. That closeness to place is at the heart of everything I paint.

This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, created by me in my loose line and wash style using premium artist-quality watercolours on 100% cotton fine art paper. Each piece is individually drawn and painted by hand, so small variations, natural marks and imperfections are part of the character of the original rather than flaws.
